Preparing for a Successful Photo Shoot with Glynis Austin Properties

To ensure your property shines in its photo shoot, we've put together a quick guide to help you prepare and ensure a seamless photography experience. The shoot, along with floor plan creation, will take approximately one hour. We will capture all major rooms, bedrooms, bathrooms, and the front exterior, including gardens, according to your chosen package. Generally, garages and laundries are not photographed unless they have special features. We also engage in drone photography so that we can have elevated positioning shots of the property to help buyers understand nearby locations.

Pre-Shoot Preparation Tips

Lighting:

  • Ensure all lights are functioning, especially range-hood and pool lights, as they are often missed.
  • We will want all lights on for photography, so it may be easier for you to switch them on prior to our team arriving to the home.

Exterior:

  • Remove all vehicles from the driveway and avoid parking directly in front of the house.
  • Keep wheelie bins out of sight.
  • Store away garden tools, hoses, and sprinklers.
  • Remove any pool cleaning equipment (e.g., creepy crawlies) from the pool area.
  • Mow the yard and rake leaves.
  • Sweep driveways, footpaths, and patios.
  • If you have any dead plants in pots, please remove them from view.
  • Your gutters and roofline may need to be cleaned, but we can often have any extra material like leaves photoshopped out in the post-production process.

Interior:

  • Clear countertops in the kitchen and bathrooms, putting away cleaning products, soaps and other personal items.
  • Wipe down glass and mirrors to minimise water spots in the reflection, as they can often show in photos.
  • Remove photos, notes, and papers from the refrigerator, and put away dishtowels.
  • Turn on all interior lights, including lamps, bathroom lights, and exhaust fan lights in the kitchen.
  • Set all ceiling fans to low speed.
  • De-clutter all main bedrooms, living, and dining areas. Depersonalisation is an important part of helping buyers see themselves in the property.
  • Make all beds and tidy up bedrooms, especially important is to unplug and hide extra cords such as chargers from bedside tables.
  • Turn off all televisions.
  • If need be, our team will bring extra cushions, throw rugs and other soft furnishings to assist with photography cohesion.

Following these tips will ensure your home looks its best for potential buyers. For more personalised advice, feel free to reach out to us anytime on 0403 333 013!
