On women, this work, and why I love what I do

This Sunday is International Women's Day, and I couldn't let it pass without taking a moment to reflect on something I feel genuinely fortunate about - I have spent my entire career surrounded by extraordinary women.
Real estate is one of those industries where women consistently show up, do the hard work, and deliver results, often while managing more than anyone sees from the outside. I learned this first from Glynis, who built something lasting from the ground up with integrity and care, and set a standard I still measure myself against every day. But I've also seen it in my clients, many of whom have made some of the biggest financial decisions of their lives with clarity, courage, and an instinct for what matters. Women tend to think about property differently. They think about how a home will feel, how it will function, how it will serve a family or support a future. That perspective is not a soft skill. It is a strategic one.
What I know after years in this business is that women are not just participating in the property market. They are driving it, inheriting it, investing in it, and reshaping what it looks like to build wealth through it.
So this week I want to celebrate that, and I want to say thank you. To the women who have trusted me with their properties, their goals, and their stories. To the women who have taught me, challenged me, and backed me. You are the reason I love this work. I also want to say thank you to my teammates, Glynis and Millie, who continually inspire me to be the best version of myself and move through the world with poise and integrity.
It wouldn't be a property newsletter if I don't say this next part... so if you've been thinking about where your property sits in today's market, there is no better time to have that conversation. 🙂We offer complimentary appraisals across Brisbane's Inner West, and I would love to give you a clear, honest picture of what your home is worth right now.
Happy International Women's Day!
With love, Felicity x

A few things on our radar over the next six weeks. Regional Flavours at South Bank brings together producers from across Queensland and is one of the better food events on the Brisbane calendar. Why winter sells better than most Brisbane owners think

There's a persistent myth that winter is the wrong time to list in Brisbane. The data tells a different story. Stock levels drop sharply from late May through July, serious buyers stay active because their life timelines don't pause for the season, and a well-presented home stands out far more in a thinner market than it does competing with thirty spring listings in the same week. Spring feels ...
